Glee aired a tribute episode dedicated to their beloved quarterback, Finn Hudson, played by the late Cory Monteith. A memorial of the original and new comers to the Glee Club wasn’t about he died, but how he lived and what he left behind. What he left behind is a huge part of this episode as they show how Finn’s (Cory) loved ones cope with his death.
Every single character reacted to his death differently. Santana, the former cheerleader who always had something bad to say about everyone, broke down into tears, mourning Finn’s death. Puck, former jock and best friend of Finn vandalizes a garden that was dedicated to Finn. Then there’s Mr. Shue, director of the Glee Club lies and steals Finn’s letterman jacket.
According to Huffington Post, Cory’s girlfriend,Lea Michele, who stages as Finn Hudson’s girlfriend “Glee” co-star reveals she felt like she was in a daze when she was coping with the tragedy, saying she’s lucky to have the support of her cast and crew.
“I really woke up every single day feeling like I was being in some sort of spell or something, that I was lucky enough to have him in my life,” Michele, told TV Week Australia. “I feel like what happened with Cory [the cause of his death] was this big,” she explained, reportedly holding her fingers together to reflect a tiny amount, “in the scheme of who he was and his life.”
He died during the running of his show, making this episode a cross between reality and fiction. This episode was to have a memorial for his death but that wasn’t truly fiction, the actors were saying goodbye to a real friend. You can’t just see the emotions, but you could feel them as well.
